WELCOME TO KOJONUP
Accredited Visitor Centres are located throughout WA and offer expert advice on the best things to see and do.They can help with maps, accommodation and tour bookings, and provide local knowledge on an area's hidden gems.    Just three hours south of Perth, Kojonup sits nestled amongst Australia's South West, a rich pastoral district of farmland and bush. In Kojonup and its surrounds, you can explore the Australian rural way of life, from authentic Aboriginal bush tucker to world-renowned wines, from the early history of Western Australia to state-of-the-art farm production methods.

Make sure you spend some time at The Kodja Place, a contemporary snapshot of Kojonup that explores the origins and cultures of this dynamic community.

Winner of GWN 2007 Top Tourism Town Population under 2500

The Kodja Place. Overall Winner of ABC Radio Nationals 2008 'Marvellous Regional Museum & winner of the Best Small Museum' category.

The level of commitment and professionalism to museums that I have seen by being part of the judging panel for the Awards has been a delightful discovery.

You should be justifiably proud of reaching this stage in the Awards which proved more difficult to judge than I had imagined. Standards of collections, conservation and community involvement were very high and, in reaching this point, the The Kodja Place exhibited the additional, elusive ‘something’ that elevated you above your competition.

ABC Radio National is proud to be associated with the extraordinary variety of regional museums throughout Australia and look forward to learning even more about them and the amazing people who run them during the 2009 Regional Museum Awards.
