Kojonup Visitor Centre is Tourism Council accredited visitor centre.
Accredited Visitor Centres are located throughout the State and offer expert advice on the best things to see and do. They can help with maps, accommodation and tour bookings, or provide local knowledge on an area’s hidden gems and current events.
Kojonup is a member of 'Respecting Our Culture' (ROC) Programme. This programme is an initiative of Aboriginal Tourism Australia (ATA) and has been endorsed as a national tourism accreditation programme. The ROC Programme has been developed to address three main elements: Cultural Protocols, Caring for Country and Business Management.
ROC endorsed businesses acknowledge and respect Indigenous custodianship of land and waters, have implemented minimal environmental impact procedures and have sound business management and operational practices in place.
Kojonup Visitor Centre was a finalist in the Western Australia Tourism Awards for the years 2002, 2003 and 2005, and has received Commendation Awards in the GWN Top Tourism Town Awards for the years 1995, 1997 -98, 2000, 2003,
The visitor centre is located within The Kodja Place. Upon entering the building, which is wheel chair friendly, visitors are greeted by staff and volunteers, who will happily assist with the booking of tours, accommodation, transport and help with any general enquiries.
The gift shop holds a fantastic array of souvenirs and locally made produce. A selection of art, craft, beauty products, wines, gourmet produce and Noongar art from Kojonup and surrounding areas are the delight of many visitors.
The Visitor Centre is committed to promoting safe travel and is a recognised Driver Reviver Stop providing free tea and coffee to drivers. The Centre also provides full wash room facilities, shower, parenting room, for all visitors including the disabled, an on site wheel chair is available.
Open 7 days a week from 9am - 5pm. Closed Christmas Day.
